St. Lawrence Seminary Message from the Rector

Message from the Rector

A unique past.  A vibrant present.  An exciting future.

When asked to describe St. Lawrence Seminary, I often think of the many stages of our small, yet proud high school.  St. Lawrence Seminary High School has a unique past, one that includes over 150 years of bishops, priests, famous alumni, and most importantly, a brotherhood that cannot be described with ordinary words.  It has called boys to live in a life of service, humility, and most importantly, faith with the gospel of Jesus Christ as their foundation.  It has been able to mold boys into being young men of faith.

Today, St. Lawrence has grown from that tiny institution formed over 150 years ago into a thriving school with over 200 students.  Boys from across the world come to be a part of our strong, proud tradition.  Together, they form a group of individuals who have chosen to discern God’s calling in their lives, whether as priests, religious, or lay persons.

The future of St. Lawrence is exciting, one that knows no limits.  God alone knows how many individuals this Hill of Happiness has impacted in the past and will continue to do so in the future.  Please explore this website to discover more about the St. Lawrence Seminary High School and our proud past.

The Spirit of Calvary is alive and strong.  May it ever continue to burn bright in the future.

Fr. John Holly, OFM Capuchin
